With 1.8 million citizens, Hamburg is Germany’s second-largest city after Berlin. The northern German Hanseatic city is located directly on the Elbe and is not only home to Germany’s largest seaport, but also to one of the most modern trade fair and congress venues in the world.

With a total of 107,000 square metres of exhibition space, Hamburg Messe and the Congress Center Hamburg (CCH) offer enough room for diverse events: From specialised trade fairs to consumer exhibitions with a large audience. A whole 300 events in the form of trade fairs, exhibitions and congresses take place there every year. Hamburg Messe alone attracts over 700,000 visitors to around 40 trade fairs every year. In addition, about 260 congresses are held annually at the nearby Congress Center Hamburg (CCH). This is only separated from the Hamburg Trade Fair Centre by the “Planten un Blomen” park and a sheltered connecting path.

However, it is not only the large number and variety of trade fairs and congresses that make Messe Hamburg so special, but also the inner-city location of the exhibition grounds, which is unique in Europe. This gives you the opportunity to get to know Hamburg’s Hanseatic charm alongside your visit to the trade fair. Right next door you will find the Schanzenpark, the Karolinenviertel and the Jungfernstieg. Restaurants and shopping opportunities are also in the immediate vicinity.

In addition to the central trade fair location, various events also take place in the Hamburg-Schnelsen exhibition hall, in the north of Hamburg. Trade fairs, conferences and events on around 4,500 square metres have been delighting trade visitors and end consumers for more than 35 years.

Although the Hamburg-Schnelsen exhibition hall is only about ten minutes by car from the airport, public transport connections are not ideal. A trade fair transfer between the airport or railway station and the trade fair is therefore useful for a stress-free journey.

Motorway access to the Hamburg-Schnelsen exhibition hall and the Hamburg Trade Fair Centre is guaranteed by the proximity of the A 7 and A 1 motorways, so that transfers between Hamburg and more distant cities are also unproblematic.

Due to its special inner-city location, Messe Hamburg has excellent connections to public transport. Messe Hamburg even has its own ICE railway station with fast train connections to Berlin, Frankfurt and Cologne. But even here, a trade fair transfer can be useful if your hotel is located a little outside or if you are arriving by plane. The airport is about 10 km away from the exhibition grounds.
